Children at this age are capable of making big strides in their faith, and we want to walk beside them, encourage them, and celebrate with them as they do! Our 252 Basics curriculum offers unique lessons designed to engage and inspire this special age group. We offer 4th and 5th grade boys and girls small groups on Sunday morning. Everyone enjoys worship and Bible teaching together in Rock City as part of our Sunday morning ministry. Other important aspects of our 4th and 5th ministry include:
We welcome our 4th and 5th graders to participate in the sacrament of communion when it is offered at Cornerstone. On these special Sundays our children will learn about communion, spend time in prayer and reflection, and are invited to participate in communion along with our church family.
From September through May we offer a fun monthly evening gathering designed especially for our 4th and 5th graders to help them grow in their faith and in friendship with one another. There is no cost for Magnificent Mondays. Dinner is provided and friends are welcome! For more information and to register, go here.
Summer Serve Days
This has become a favorite event among our 4th and 5th graders. Each summer we gather this special group of kids together for an awesome couple of days of serving together while serving in our community. We serve at the East Alabama Food Bank, the Community Market, Big House, Exodus Ranch, and the Cornerstone Foundations Preschool. We know that we are blessed to be a blessing, and our children embrace this as they learn what it means to love and serve like Jesus. For more information and to register, go here.
Our 4th and 5th graders are invited to participate in WinShape Camps for Communities, a week-long day camp sponsored by Chick-fil-A and hosted by Cornerstone Church. We also offer our 4th and 5th graders an overnight camp experience called Merge Camp. (The deadline to register for Merge Camp is May 1 – no exceptions.) Both of these camps take place in the summer.
