Intern: Guest Services

Description

This internship position will work closely with the Guest Services Coordinator to coordinate volunteer schedules for Sunday mornings and any Cornerstone special events (i.e. Baptism Celebration), attend quarterly volunteer team leader meetings, assist the Sunday morning Guest Service Assistants, and fill in where needed to assist guests. We show the love of God to our guests by ensuring that they have distraction free worship and celebration experiences.

Intern: Cornerstone College

Description

This internship position will work closely with the College Pastor primarily to see college students grow in their love for Christ and their commitment to follow Him wherever He leads their lives. Secondly, it is to prepare the Intern for a life of ministry, regardless of their vocation upon graduation, through a nine month (August-May) internship with Cornerstone Church, focused specifically in the ministry of Cornerstone College.

Intern: Cornerstone Kids

Description

This internship position will work closely with all Cornerstone Kids’ staff members and will report directly to the Children’s Ministry Director. This position will support our ministry efforts to deliver high quality, relevant, creative programming for children and families that is honoring to Christ. Involvement will include weekly Cornerstone Kids preparations and Sunday morning programming.

Cafe Team

Role:  Cafe Team Member

Purpose:  Our Cafe Team keeps the coffee, juice and donuts ready and the coffee station cleaned and stocked. Setting up and breaking down the Cafe will be involved. For Lee-Scott, roles also include food prep and courier.

Commitment:  The set-up team members arrive at 7:30 am and stay until the first service has begun. The break down team members arrive during the first service and stay until everything is cleaned up after the second service begins.

Kitchen Team

Role:  Kitchen Team Member

Purpose:  Bake biscuits, grill sausage and prepare donuts for our guests and volunteers at all sites on Sunday mornings. (The cooking is done at the Hamilton Road site. Then the Lee-Scott food is taken by courier to Lee-Scott.)

Commitment:  Members arrive at 6 am and are usually finished by 7 am. Teams rotate every other month.

Children’s Check-In Team

Role:  Children’s Check-in Team Member

Purpose:  Help our kids (infants through 5th grade) get checked in to their classrooms, complete with security tag, so their parents know they are safe and in the right place.

Commitment:  Check-in volunteers arrive 30 minutes before the service begins and serve until 15 minutes after the service begins (45 minutes total). Teams are rotated.

Parking Team

Role:  Parking Team Member

Purpose:  Ensure safety and order while greeting and directing cars and pedestrians in our parking lot. This is the first experience many people will have at Cornerstone, and we want it to be great.

Commitment:  Arrive 30 minutes before the service begins and serve until approximately 10 minutes after the service begins. Teams are rotated.

Recovery Team

Role:  Recovery Team Member

Purpose:  This team includes what most people know as ushers but is so much more. Team members arrive and do a walk-through of the worship area checking to make sure everything is in its place and ready to go. They collect the tithes and offerings during the service. After the service, they pick up any trash and tidy the restrooms.

Commitment:  One service on a Sunday morning. Teams are rotated.

Greeter Team

Role:  Greeter Team Member

Purpose:  Greet our guests as they arrive on Sunday morning, distribute the News and Events cards at the Worship Area doors, answer questions at the Next Steps desk, and take care of bookstore sales.

Commitment:  Arrive 30 minutes before the service begins and greet until 15 minutes after the service begins (45 minutes total). Teams are rotated.

Community Market of the Food Bank of East Alabama

Organization: Community Market of the Food Bank of East Alabama – 3810-C Pepperell Parkway, Opelika, AL

Role: Bagger, Stocker, Receptionist

Purpose: Let’s help the Community Market in their mission of Feeding the hungry of our community by giving the needy access to available food resources. The Community Market, a program of the Food Bank of East Alabama, provides a friendly grocery-store environment for Lee County families in need.

Alabama Rural Minstry (ARM)

Organization: Alabama Rural Ministry (ARM) –  Homes in Lee  and Macon County

Role: Constructor, home repairer

Purpose: Volunteers extend the love of Christ through home repair and children’s ministry. We can help  ARM serve families and work as a force in alleviating rural poverty. Families most affected are children and our elderly. You can be the difference between substandard housing and a secure home for a loving family.
