Here’s what’s happening this month at Cornerstone Kids. You will find information about what the kids are learning, preview videos, take home materials and more.
We had so much fun with you and your awesome children in October! While we love Sunday mornings in Cornerstone Kids, we so enjoyed the opportunity to spend time with many of you at Trunk or Treat, Equip: Parents, Magnificent Monday and more. Check out some fun photos here. If you weren’t able to make it to Equip: Parents, you can watch the recorded sessions here. And, there are still a few copies of Patrick Quinn’s book, How To Ruin Your Child in 7 Easy Steps available at the Welcome Desk.
It’s now November, and we are so excited about all that we have in store for your children this month! We can’t wait to see all of the shoeboxes you and your kids have packed for Operation Christmas Child. We gave out 200 shoeboxes two weeks ago, and we know you have been busy shopping and packing your shoeboxes. Shoeboxes are due this Sunday, November 13. If you need a label, we will have plenty available in the lobby. Go here to learn more about how you can pack a shoebox and help us share the love of Jesus with children all over the world!
Here’s what else is happening this month in Cornerstone Kids!
We just kicked off an awesome month for our Pebble Path friends! In November our bottom line is “I am thankful for people who help me”, and we will help our children recognize many people in their lives who help them. Through books, fun dress up and imaginative play, our children will learn about helpers in our community such as police officers, fire fighters, grocery store cashiers, as well as their own families. Our Bible stories will focus on individuals in the Bible and the important people who helped them. It is going to be a great month to learn from God’s word about the importance of being thankful! Don’t forget to pick up your November placemat and enjoy spending time with your little one drawing and chatting about ways you can, “Always give thanks to God.” Ephesians 5:20. Check out our Preview Video below to learn more.
November in Rock City brings Honor front and center for our kids as we talk about what it looks like to honor others as God does. We’ll flip the world’s view of praise and worth and see what it means to view others in God’s eyes and as his children. By looking at the life of David, our kids will learn some valuable lessons about how we can honor others by putting them first, keeping our promises, and giving them a chance. What an incredible lesson for us all! We’ll wrap up the month with David worshipping God unashamedly as we remember that we “honor God by giving him credit.” Let’s join together this month to help our kids see that honor is “letting someone know you see how valuable they really are.” For more about honor, take a few minutes and watch this month’s Preview Video below. We hope it will inspire you to talk about the importance of honor with your children at home.

As we approach Thanksgiving, we hope you know how truly thankful we are for the wonderful privilege of getting to know your children and helping them grow in their faith. This special verse speaks to our hearts as we help shape their hearts for Him. “We will not hide these truths from our children; we will tell the next generation about the glorious deeds of the Lord, about His power and His mighty wonders.” Psalm 78:4.
Many blessings to you and your family from all of us in Cornerstone Kids!
