God is doing an incredible work in Nicaragua through our partners at Christ Our Rock Church. The leaders there, Marvin and Gretthel Ramirez, have an incredible zeal for their church family and seeing it reach their neighborhood and surrounding communities. Nearly all of their work focuses on one of these three areas: 1) Pastor training and leader development, 2) caring for the immediate needs of church members (nutrition, housing, etc), and 3) discipleship/education/nutrition of the children in their area. So when Gretthel invited us to come and help host a Vacation Bible School for 60 children, we jumped at the opportunity.

This Thursday, a team of six – Ray and Sonya Abner, Brandy Wynn, Scott Fillmer, Nate Robinson and myself – will be heading down to Tipitapa, Nicaragua, for a four day trip focused on co-leading this VBS. It will be a whirlwind of fun, Bible teaching and games, crafts, and ultimately building relationships with the kids and their families – many of which may not be part of the church but send their kids to be a part of these kind of church events for the meals they will receive. The mission God has called Cornerstone Church to transcends borders and language barriers, and I could not be more excited to be a part of extending the mission of leading people to know and serve Christ in Nicaragua. In so many ways, they are already fulfilling that mission in their community, and we have the incredible privilege of walking alongside of and co-laboring for the Kingdom of God.

Please pray for us while we are in Nicaragua in these ways:
1) that the children and their families would feel the love of Jesus Christ in a real way, and
2) that our friendship and partnership with Christ our Rock Church would continue to deepen as we work alongside them in their mission.
