Here’s what’s happening this month at Cornerstone Kids. You will find information about what the kids are learning, preview videos, take home materials and more.

“Christmastime is here!” Kids of all ages are shouting in excitement, because the Christmas season is upon us. December is such a special month as we focus on the birth of our Savior and our kids learn about the true meaning of Christmas. We can’t wait to share in the joy and the hope with each of our children in Cornerstone Kids. We’ll celebrate with a big birthday party for Jesus in both Pebble Path and Rock City complete with cake and balloons. And on December 27, we will gather in the main worship space for a family-friendly service where children attend the service with their families. We hope that this season will be a memorable one for your family as we all focus on the greatest gift!

Christmas will come alive for our preschoolers in Pebble Path as they discover a new part of the story of Jesus’ birth each week. The children will create a special “Story Sparkler” every Sunday to represent a piece of the Christmas story. And by the end of December, they will not only know what the gift is that God gave us but also why He gave us the gift of Jesus. Our bottom line in Pebble Path this month is “God loved us so much that He gave us Jesus.”

15Dec_standard_CompassionIn Rock City we’ll be participating in several Compassion Challenges as we all “triple dog dare” each other to show compassion to those around us. We define compassion as caring enough to do something about someone else’s need. God saw our greatest need, and was compassionate towards us when He gave us Jesus. Our verse to focus on this month is a beautiful picture of God’s compassion in John 3:16 where we learn that “God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son. Anyone who believes in him will not die but will have eternal life.” Let us all look for the needs around us this season and show compassion just as God showed compassion towards us!
