Here’s what’s happening this month at Cornerstone Kids. You will find information about what the kids are learning, preview videos, take home materials and more.

Baptism Celebration is always a special day at Cornerstone. This past Sunday was no exception. It was a beautiful day to celebrate God’s goodness and His grace among us, together as a family. With so many babies baptized in our Sunday morning services and the children and adults who publicly proclaimed their faith during our Baptism Celebration Sunday evening, it is evident that God is truly at work in the hearts and lives of many here at Cornerstone.

We want to offer a special congratulations to all of the children who took their next step of faith on Sunday – Jillian Parker, Miles and Beck Bernstein, Caroline, Tucker and Riley Hill, as well as one of our Cornerstone Youth, Jason Saylor. We look forward to seeing all that the Lord has in store for you as you continue to seek to follow Him with your lives. We know that our awesome God has called you and has blessed you, and we know that He will use you to shine brightly for Him wherever you go and in whatever you do! To see Baptism photos, go here.

1508_MonthlyScreen_StandardWe’ve got some great things in store for our kids on Sunday mornings as we kick off September. This month in Pebble Path will be full of dogs, frogs, birds, mice and pets of all kinds. As our children feed, bathe, brush and care for our pretend pets, they will be learning how much our heavenly Father cares for each one of them. Through this month’s Bible stories, engaging activities and sweet worship songs our children will learn just how much our loving Father cares for, provides and protects each one of us. We’ve even got a simple, catchy chant that we will be singing every Sunday this month. You can check it out here so that you can learn and sing along, too.

15Sep_standard_Theme“Dirty Jobs” is the theme this month for our elementary kids in Rock City.
Each Sunday, we will take a close look at the Old Testament account of Nehemiah to help our kids grow in their understanding of Initiative. Our curriculum defines Initiative as seeing what needs to be done and doing it. Initiative is part of God’s character. Just as our loving God saw our broken relationship with Him and sent us Jesus, we want our children to see the needs around them and to take action to do something about it. We want to train our kids to to open their eyes, to be aware of their surroundings and to get involved. Our September memory verse comes from Colossians 3:23a. “Work at everything you do with all your heart. Work as if you were working for the Lord.” We’ve got all kinds of fun activities planned for this month, along with great worship and powerful Bible stories. We’ll even be eating dirt Sundae’s to help encourage our kids to “See It! Do It!”
