Rock City Gratitude ImageHere’s what’s happening this month at Cornerstone Kids. You will find information about what the kids are learning, preview videos, take home materials and more.

Along with the turkey, mashed potatoes and pumpkin pie, I love that we have a holiday that helps us remember to be thankful and to celebrate all of our blessings. And, I’m so excited that we’ll be focusing our hearts on being thankful all month long in Cornerstone Kids!

We’ll also be collecting shoeboxes for Operation Christmas Child this month. What a great way to share what God has given you and bless a child in need in another part of the world. To learn how you can participate go here.

In October, our little ones in Pebble Path will be looking at Creation and celebrating that God made it all. The fall leaves, the pumpkins in the pumpkin pie, our family members and each one of us – God created all things and for that we can all be thankful! Be sure to ask your children about the “Thankful Tree” they are creating with their church friends each week this month.

In Rock City, we will be exploring God’s Word to learn more about Gratitude. One of the teachings we will turn to this month is that of the 10 lepers from Luke 17. The lepers asked Jesus to heal them, and He did. But when their skin condition went away, they were so excited about the miracle that they ran off and forgot to say “thank you” –  all except for one, who did come back. We want to help our children grow to be like the one leper who showed gratitude and came back to thank Jesus. As we move toward Thanksgiving, we are reminded that it is our hope in Jesus that should prompt us to be thankful and to show gratitude in all circumstances.
