Her name is Joy. Her momma and daddy named her well! We shuffled out of the airport close to midnight last night. There she was – all big smile and her braided hair twisted just so. Her laugh is contagious, and those hands clap when she says something that cracks her right up! Joy works at African Renewal University in the admissions office, wearing many hats, loving and serving well.
Girls can do some serious bonding over a little chocolate and a steaming mug of tea. We forgot that we’d had little sleep in many hours as the toffee bars were busted out. That’s what joy does at 1:00 AM – it draws you in and makes you want to linger. Sleep can be over rated. Joy needs to be treasured and clasped tightly whenever and wherever you find it.
