By the seventh day God had finished the work he had been doing; so on the seventh day he rested from all his work. Then God blessed the seventh day and made it holy, because on it he rested from all the work of creating that he had done. -Genesis 2:2-3

The term ‘sabbatical’ comes from the verse in Genesis 2:2-3 where God instituted the mandate of a sabbath rest for His people.

Our Creator understands our physical, emotional, and spiritual needs for rest. Having served in ministry for over 20 years, our church’s Personnel and Executive teams have worked with Rusty to provide him a sabbatical this Summer. He will be gone the month of July for a structured period of spiritual renewal, study, worship, and reflection. Furthermore, he will spend quality time with his family and will celebrate his 25th wedding anniversary with Becky. As part of the church leadership, we are thrilled that we can offer this opportunity for Rusty. Please join us in praying for Rusty that God will provide him genuine rest and renewal during the sabbatical.
