Sunday started as a sunny one, one of the first days of complete sunshine since we landed in Uganda. The team started the day with our devotion and headed to church.
If I didn’t hear Africa then, I had definitely experienced it that morning! The view and scenery was breathtaking showing God’s glory with every pasture and flicker of sunshine. As we entered into Buloba Community Church, Richard (student from ARU) ushered us to our seats in the very front row of the church. Making the mistake of sitting down, we quickly stood back up for praise and worship. The worship made me smile, knowing that God was being lifted up.
Since the Sunday was Youth Sunday, the children performed in everything, including worship, and the Mwangaza children’s choir put on a show. A 14 year old boy named Ian spoke The Word. Ian was in my class during Center Days, and the one thing Michael and I were sure about was that Ian was a natural born leader. After church, we rode over to Pastor Eva’s house for lunch. It was as if Pastor Eva was trying to literally give us a taste of Uganda, because so many wonderful dishes were at the table. We finished dinner off with fresh pineapple, mango, and papaya. After the experience of an amazing African feast, we experienced a “refreshing” African hike, and 1/4 of it was uphill. It was pretty great, all in all, it was a good day.
