“God will meet all my needs.” These simple words have a profound impact on every aspect of our lives. But in the midst of our messy, complicated lives, they are not always easy to trust in, are they? I think that is where our childlike faith comes in.
Our kids can teach us so much about faith as they take hold of basic truths like “God will meet all my needs.” And in Pebble Path this month, the little ones will be learning just that! They will learn about individuals like Elijah and Abraham who were provided for in tangible ways in their times of need. Preschoolers will also hear that just as God takes care of the birds and flowers, how much more will he take care for us?
In Rock City, our elementary kids will look at the topic of Endurance as they see God providing when it’s tough to stick with their faith. Jesus tells us in John 16:33 that “In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.” Jesus doesn’t promise that this life will be easy, but he does assure us that He is bigger than anything we face.
As we look at stories like Paul and Silas imprisoned for their faith and those in the early church who were the first ones challenged with the Great Commission, we are able to see the message that Jesus promises. He has overcome it all! Our hope is that our kids will see the value of “sticking it out” in their faith, because Jesus knows the end of the story.
