Pat Bethea – Youth Pastor

  • Birthplace: Tampa, FL and grew up in Jackson, MS
  • Education: 1997 Mississippi State (#HailState) with a degree in Educational Psychology; 2001 Asbury Theological Seminary with Master of Divinity degree
  • Family Life: I am married to Ann, and we have an adorable daughter, Tallie, who was born in 2010. We are in the process of adding to our family by adopting.
  • First Job: Co-founder of John & Pat’s lawn service. Beginning in 7th grade with a measly 3 yards to mow, I joined resources with my friend John, and by my sophomore year of college, we had 38 yards that we maintained.  I love a freshly mowed and clean yard!!!
  • When did you join the Cornerstone staff team? In 2012 we moved here from Mobile. We have loved living and serving in the Auburn/Opelika area, being close to our extended family and being surrounded by such a great family-oriented community.
  • Role: My role at Cornerstone Church is Youth Pastor, event trash man and the non-coffee drinker staff person. I desire to see youth who grab a hold of the vision of God and face today’s culture with love, compassion, grace and humility.
  • What do you do in your free time? I love to tailgate and enjoy Auburn (except when Mississippi State is playing) athletics with my daughter, play golf, watch football, and serve those in need.
  • Current Favorite Book: Love Does by Bob Goff – It’s a simple yet challenging shift in the way that each of us can make a huge difference in the world around us just by genuinely loving others.
  • Favorite Food: Hot Wings, Chic-Fil-A, and Johnny Brusco’s Pizza top my list.
  • What inspires you: When I see others that respond to God’s prompting and make a difference in someone else’s life
