Who doesn’t love a good party?? Any time we get to celebrate some milestone, success or achievement is a good time. We do it for birthdays, anniversarys, retirements, etc. We do it to honor the important moments in our life. We do it also (maybe unconsciously) because we as people need to highlight our forward progress on the journey of life.

It just seems right to bring friends and family together for the occasion. It also seems right to eat together, remember together, laugh together, fellowship together, and re-kindle our appreciation for significant relationships.

God loves to celebrate!

Luke 15:10 says, “In the same way, I tell you, there is rejoicing in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner who repents.”

In other words, when one person gives their life to Christ, heaven bursts out in rejoicing or celebrating. Therefore, we should do the same. This is one of the main reasons we changed the environment for our youth and adult baptisms to an outdoor setting, with food, music and lots cheering. This just seems to give us a clearer picture of how the Kingdom of God functions.

For this reason we also love to come together as a church once a year to celebrate all that God has done and will do among us. So, mark your calendar for either Wednesday, February 12, or Thursday February 13, to come together at our Hamilton Road campus for our Celebration Dinner. We will enjoy a catered dinner from our friends at Venditori’s restaurant beginning at 5:30 pm. We will be led in worship by our combined worship teams. We will then hear how God has moved over the last year and look forward to where God is taking us. This year will be a very important time as we will be hearing the results of our Dream 2020 process. This will be another defining marker along the journey of our church.

You do not want to miss this night! It’s going to be a great time! Also know that childcare is available on these nights. In fact our kids are going to be having their own party that night back in Rock City. So really, our whole Cornerstone family will be celebrating together! Just go here to register and let us know which night you’re coming.

Thank you for your love and commitment to Jesus Christ. Thank you for the ways that you serve Him in our church and in our community. I look forward to being with you and celebrating together God’s work among us.
