Did you know that each Sunday nearly 100 men, women, college students and youth volunteers show up at our Hamilton Road and Lee-Scott sites to love and serve our children? We are blessed to have so many dedicated volunteers with a desire to share Christ with our kids and to see them grow in their faith.
Deuteronomy 7:6, “For you are a holy people, who belong to the Lord your God. Of all the people on the earth, the Lord your God has chosen you to be His own special treasure.”
Scripture tells us that children are important to Jesus. Our volunteers embrace this. They reflect the heart and passion of Jesus as they pour themselves into the lives of our kids each week. Whether they rock babies, teach Bible lessons to preschoolers, engage our Rock City kids in worship or lead a small group of elementary kids, each of our volunteers makes an eternal difference in the lives of the children they connect with when they serve with us.
Lately, we’ve seen an increasing number of family members coming into our ministry together. Mothers and daughters, husbands and wives, brothers, sisters, and whole families coming together to spend time with our kids – with the added bonus of spending time serving together.
I want to take this opportunity to honor the many families who make it a priority to serve our children, while serving together. These photos represent a few of our faithful family servants. There are many other families coming together to give of themselves as they point our kids to Christ. In changing the lives of the children they serve, I know that God will bless and strengthen their families, too. They are God’s special treasures. And, they are our treasures, too!
