This Christmas will make the 6th year in a row we’ve been able to work with our very own Rob and Jen Slocumb of “Martha’s Trouble” to put on their annual Cornerstone Christmas Show. Rob and Jen lead worship with our Hamilton Road worship team throughout the year, and this concert is always something to look forward to. In addition to a great night of musical entertainment, every year this concert works to raise awareness or financial support to a local community service effort.
This year will serve to benefit two areas of our church’s mission. First, we have chosen for the show to benefit the Food Bank of East Alabama by promoting our Food Stock 2013 Christmas project. The Food Bank of East Alabama is one of our local partners that we support throughout the year. Second, as Cornerstone prepares to launch an Opelika site in 2013, we decided to move the event across town! By partnering with the Irish Bred Pub, RailYardArts.com and Standard Deluxe, we were able to get into the Opelika Cultural Center of East Alabama. Formerly known as Brown Elementary School, this unique venue is a great location for us to gather and invite our community to join us as we celebrate the Christmas season with “Martha’s Trouble”!
